The Last Frontier
The Last Frontier is a 1979 Tartan 37, hull number 148. When she left the factory, her name was Last Frontier. Over the course of her life she sailed under at least three other names, each reflecting a different owner and chapter in her history.
When I became her caretaker, I felt that her original name was the one that truly belonged to her. After a quiet personal ceremony, I returned her to the name she carried when she first touched the water: Last Frontier.
Today she serves as both a sailboat and a reminder that some things are worth preserving. The adventures may change, the destinations may change, and the people aboard may change, but the spirit of exploration remains the same.
